After a significant hiatus from the Call of Duty franchise, the legends sent us a copy of the game for review and bent our arm back into a bit of good old Call of Duty action. I'm happy to report that Black Ops 6 offers a nostalgic return to the series while introducing some innovative new features and a whole lot heap of wild times.
The single-player campaign is a visually stunning experience, immersing players in a gripping Cold War narrative. The attention to detail in the environments and character models is on the level we've come to expect from the franchise, pushing boundaries and creating a highly immersive experience that's about as close as you could get to reliving some key moments in history.
The multiplayer modes of Black Ops 6 are where you will find most players and definitely give you that classic Call of Duty experience, offering intense, fast-paced and often unforgiving action. The new movement system, referred to as Omnimovement, adds a layer of strategic depth and tactical thinking to the familiar multiplayer formula. While the initial learning curve might be steep, mastering the new system can lead players to some pretty exhilarating firefights and satisfying victories.
Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! The Zombies mode in Black Ops 6 really took me back to the good old days fighting wave after wave with friends. The game's take on the zombie genre offers a fresh perspective, combining classic zombie survival mechanics with some innovative new twists. Thanks to this, fighting together with friends to survive hordes of the undead is an endless fun time as always!
Black Ops 6 is a well-rounded game that offers something for everyone. Whether you're a fan of the campaign, multiplayer, or Zombies, this game has you covered. It's a great choice for both long-time Call of Duty fans and newcomers to the series.
As a returning player to the Call of Duty franchise, I also note how far accessibility has come in Call of Duty and Black Ops 6 continues to take this further. The game's intuitive controls and user-friendly interface make it easy to pick up and play, even for someone who hadn't played a Call of Duty game in quite a few years. The fast-paced multiplayer action was a blast, and now that Nuketown has been added to the roster, the game is near on perfection and happy to give it a 9.5/10!
